On one occasion, when His disciples had forgotten to bring bread with them, Jesus said:
"Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy." -Luke 12:1

In this short warning we learn the significance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread: It is not about hardship (although it is eaten with bitter herbs with the Passover), it is about avoiding impure thoughts, hypocritical doctrines and toxic culture.

Jesus further explained:
"Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees." -Matthew 16:12

The Feast of Unleavened Bread is therefore the perfect time to discard all hypocrisy and corrupt doctrines from our lives. What things do we consciously or subconsciously believe that are wounding our souls? What hypocrisy would we rather jettison before the day of judgment is here, and eternity is upon us?
Now is the time to make a clean sweep of those things.
