It is no accident that after demonstrating correct priorities by cleansing the temple first rather than jettisoning Judah's Roman Imperial governor, Jesus explained the next day in His discourse on the Mount of Olives the calamities and ruin that would follow apostasy, and made many prophesies regarding political turmoil that would follow up until His Second Coming.
He prophesied of wars, betrayals, great tribulations, and signaled that those who love Him will be loyal to Him and will be providing for His children even under such dire circumstances until the very end. He warned of false Christs and that many would be deceived He likened the test of the last days to the Flood in the days of Noah. He spoke of the signs of the last days, the need to warn the whole world, and the necessity of fleeing to safety upon certain signals.
"Be ready" was His call.
He then gave the parables of the talents, the ten virgins, and the sheep and the goats.
Knowing that the world will not glide calmly towards the Second Coming of the Savior, what will you do to be prepared, and keep your lamp burning brightly?
